Okay i guess id better start from the beginning. Ive 4 wonderful horses, 1 x thoroughbred and 3 x cob (cobs are all mine lol, tb is DHs). Anyway we had been at a brillant livery yard but was closing down as the guy was moving. So we started looking for a field or another yard.
My cousins boyfriend offered to put them at his friends place until i could find something permanent. All they could offer was a field, so thought it would be a nice wee holiday for them anyway.
Well i gave the guy money to pass on for livery, he kept saying that we didnt owe any as we had done plenty of favours for them. Also to say thank you to him i gave him a couple of new rugs for his horses, also wormers and £30. I was up every day with them, he told me i didnt have to but i love being with them
One day i arrived up and the horses werent there, panic set in and i called him. He said that the guy said to move them as he needed the field, so he had took them to another friends house. I asked to see them but everytime we arranged to meet him he wouldnt turn up.
I called my cousin who also tried to find out where they were but he wouldnt tell her. Now we knew this guy for nearly 2 years, when we first moved the horses he would call at ours most nights for a wee chat and to see our baby. We were also moving house at the time and i was packing things up. Our TBs passport was in the living room, when he left the passport couldnt be found, i called him but he said he didnt lift it, so tought it must have been packed already.
I phoned him yesterday, have been trying to get in touch with him for a while but wasnt answering the phone or was never at the house. He told me to f off, that what i owed him for livery was over the cost of what the horses are worth. That they were at deaths door when he took them from our livery yard (this is bull), that he spent over £500 on wormers on them. This is also bull, they were wormed one month before they left the yard, i do them every 3 months. Although i couldnt get to see them i didnt stop responsibility for their keep. I left him wormers, left money for haylage and feed. Hes more or less hinted that the horses are sold now, told him i was going to the police and he laughed saying i was a stupid b***h, that they would do f all. The other sickening thing is that my cousin offered to look after my tack etc while we moved house, we never got that back either! He then admitted that he had the tb's passport and that made him the legal owner, we couldnt prove otherwise.
Phoned the police (yesterday) who are investigating it, waiting for them to come up to take the pictures i have of the horses. Gave them both his mobile number and hers (they have no landline). I feel sick and i cant stop crying, these horses are everything to me. Id never be bad to them, now hes telling people that they were in really bad condition.
I cant even go and see my cousins mum who i was really close to (thought i was close to my cousin too!), i cant stand the fact of bumping into them. Also hes been very threatening to me. I have since found out that he stole my cousins horse and car, sold them on her and kept the money for himself.
Yous might call me heartless or stupid, but now i kind of feel bad, my cousins granny died last night, she was very close to her. My dh keeps saying 'Did she help us when she knew that he was capable of selling her horse'. Thinking back, no she didnt help us much. The guy told me that my cousin showed him the messages i sent her asking for things back. Dont know if that is true. It also means i cant go to the funeral, i had told the police that he had been threatening and they said to try to avoid him, i dont want to see him away.
Thing is, will the police take this seriously. If i have to i will take it to court, got a solictor on standby. Would i get my horses back? What would happen to him. I will truely be sickened if he gets off with this!! He said that i owe him so much for livery that the value of the horses dont even cover it! Oh yeah, i didnt approach him about a field/yard, he came and said to me
