Please please help me, my parents are going to have my dog PTS

I can't add much other than to say there are some fab suggestions here. I'd personally just try and contain him to one area like kitchen or utility to try and manage/minimise the problem. Have you thought about getting a dog walker to come and let him out in the garden for ten mins a couple of times a day?

sorry i love you o death as a fellow poster on here BUT it is time for your dog to go.

Call me every name under the sun if you wish,it sounds like his time to go with some dignaty.

I dont blame your parents for thinking like this if it was tyson i would end it now.

We went through the same scenario with our Springer Jethro when he was 14. Ww tried everything (except nappies as I don't think they can be comfortable when wet). We spent a fortune on tests & scans which never showed anything wrong. He would just wee were he lay or walking along as if he didn't know what was happening. In the end the Vet decided he was probably senile. About the same time he lost interest in walks & we decided it was time. Feeling for you but he is very old & you can't hold on for ever.
Remember the old saying - better too early than too late.

I think if he were mine I would be putting him to sleep if the incontinence had become a constant problem. I really wouldn't want an older dog to have to adjust to 'nappies'

, nor do I think asking an elderly house dog to live outside or in a kennel very fair if he is used to the sofa and the warm cosy indoors.

Very sad, only you can decide what is best. I'm sure whatever you decide will be right for him.

I have to agree re: the nappies - they are purely designed for ease for the owner and not with the dog's happiness and health purpose. Hideous things and I would never make a dog wear them, for their own sake.
