ermm do you put a chew or something in with him to do when he wakes up? I used to put a rawhide ring in with my puppy, but he threw it around his crate which made a right racket, so now he gets his kong which is slightly less noisy! I can now sleep till about 7/8 sometimes 9 if he was nakered!

If it gets terrible, as a last resort, maybe consider an anti bark collar? I know they aren't the best thing in the world, but you need sleep and he needs to learn not to do it........

I don't know any other suggestions as my puppy settled after a couple of months......

sorry

Thank you, have tried toys, he wriggles out of anti-bark collar. I love him to bits but its getting hard. lol. I shall go and buy some chews tomorrow. I'm glad your puppy learnt. xxx

bugger about the collar! my friends dog can slip a choke chain! (How, I have no idea!)

Get some hard a*s chews he will enjoy but not destroy in a few minutes!! hopefully he will be too interested in them to bother you!

Another thought, is maybe when he goes to sleep put a towel or something over his crate (if he sleeps in a crate.....) as I find that sometimes settles Beau (mine) if he is on a giddy just before bed.......

and yes mine learnt to settle at night well, but is lacking the ability to learn to come back to me! so good at one thing bad at another!

lol - aw we can do coming back we just cant do sleeping...( maybe they never crack everything!) i keep all curtains closed, problem is he just wants to be with me (very flattering, its just i dont want to be with him at 5am!) Im def going to hunt for some delicious hard wearing chews!! i'll let you know how we get on. xx

good good!

Just as a thought if he wants to be with you.......... I know I prob shouldn't but mine sleeps in my room......... Maybe if he sleeps in yours he would settle? I know its a big thing about whether or not that effects the alpha status of you etc.......
just trying to think of your sleep!

Let me know if chews work!

I'll keep you posted. trying to keep him out of bedroom, but it may come to that. he's such a bugger, but currently fast asleep in his bed (looking so gorgeous!). xxxx

We had a customers dog who did the same as he was staying a mth we got him in a crate with a kong ect after 3 or 4 nights he slept till 7am he now sleeps in

i wouldn't let him to sleep in your room as it may cause more problems than you already have

You can get Anti Bark units - not collars - which do the same thing but are portable, so you sit them on your kitchen side (or wherever) and I think they have a 150 metre range! They're very good, and do seem to work. Not cheap though - they're £50

We actually have a brand new one that we bought to keep our two Labs quiet, but have never taken it out of its box as they seem to have learnt their lesson through stern tellings off
