i have just come out of hospital after fracturing and crushing my spine @ t12
stupidly i got on my normally quite horse in the school without my body protector, she decided she didn't want to play, and threw me, if i had been wearing my body protector i probably would have been ok

even the quietest horse can have an off day so please wear your body protector the next time you ride

Oh, poor you, I hope you are on the road to recovery and not in too much pain. I for one will be taking notice of your post and others on this subect. I fell off in February and, like you, my horse is normally the most placid, quiet boy but, despite the warnings he was very uptight, I decided to hop on down the field to ride up to the yard. The spring grass got to him and wheeeeeeeee!!! off he went like a bucking bronco, entirely my fault. When I am allowed to get back in the saddle, which may be late October, I will be getting a BP - I have heard Racesafe 2000 are very good. I definitely won't be jumping on his back again without protection. xxx

im up and walking, still in a lot of pain though, i have to stay off work and riding for 3 months or til its healed, the annoying thing is my bp was in the car

Ouch!

I was extremely pleased to be wearing mine the other week: came off when Dizz slipped on the road, and that was at a walk! Okay, so it was a full of power walk

, but it was a walk.

I'm at the two and a half week mark and I'm bored stupid - no driving for another week-ish and no riding for another three and a half weeks

Don't want to risk it before then in case I do something else and end up breaking a chunk off

Hope you improve quickly.
