I will be the first to admit that i read posts and dont answer them all the time, BUT................. As a new member i joined this forum after leaving others because i was told that Horse and Hound was the most informative website

However, i have noticed that loads ands loads of people read questions but do not answer them.
As I said before, I am sometimes guilty of this too, but when people keep logging on and hoping that someone has offered the slightest bit of support and advice and no one has answered, it is disheartening.
Most of us are at work all day and look forward to logging on and hoping we have some answers, lets face it, not everyone we see everyday knows what we are talking about???
No one in my office understands that i need a Dutch Gag and standing martingale

So, come on fellow horse mates, lets try a bit harder please x

HI! I only reply if i have something to say and thats not always the case, but i know what you mean. sometimes im looking for info and someone very kindly asks the question for me.

Sorry you feel like this - sometimes no one has an answer, or the question has been put in an strange way that people don't really get. I have had a look at your posts for the last couple of days and maybe no one hunts with the Burne on here? Otherwise I didn't see any posts made by yourself requesting help

Chin up!

Not too sure which posts you are talking about, but in general, people tend to not bother to reply if a topic isn't as described in the title, don't feel qualified to reply, or if the topic has been done to the death. For example, ask a question about parelli and most people will look to see whether you're a genuine new person or somebody trying to stir up controversy, and give up and leave without typing out the same reply they have said 10 times before in similar posts

Can't blame them for that - its boring.

I would suggest if someone isn't getting many replies to use the search facility to see if the topic has been discussed before.

Hope that helps x

Oh no, I am not asking in the actual sense. I have just noticed that lots of posts dont get answered, I dont mean just mine. x

Some times people open posts, not because they have something to add, but because they want to know the answer too

Maybe if people didn't put such ambigious titles then we wouldn't have to click on to the post to see what it's about. We'd only go on to it if we had something to say or were interested/knowledgeable in the subject

Being a 'new to owning' person who barely rides anyway (they are my daughter's ponies, I just go for the odd hack at the RS) I do tend to read out of interest, even subjects like the most absorbent bedding - we only have 1 stable in use part time so not relevant at the moment but it's information I want to know about just in case I ever need the info. Never know I might have to have one on box rest sometime.

And being new to owning means I really haven't a clue about a lot of stuff so quite often I open a post not knowing from the title eaxctly what it's about and don't reply because I have no idea, or if I do someone usually has already said the only bit of info I know!

I'm not sure I can really comment on many more posts than I do already

I spend far to long on here than I should already, I enjoy looking at posts though I don't think I need to try any harder

As it happens though I use a Pelham and a standing martingale on my horse when I'm hunting otherwise I would die

I don't think its a case of people can't be bothered, you need to click on and read a post before you can reply anyway, not everyone who reads the post will be able to offer advice, then you will a lot of people that will want to read to your post to see what replies you get because they may have the same problems, on the other hand a lot of us are at work

Hi - I am guilty too - quite often I will be on HHO but just "having a quick look" and then I dn't log in so will read a lot of posts but can't reply - especially when I am work and kidding myself I will have a 2minute peek and then back to the slog!!
