I currently have Wolseley Skylark Trimmers however they have broken and although they have been ok they are not great I can only trim 2 legs on one set charge. I need them to be quiet as although I can clip my boy all over hes not too keen on his legs so bought these and hes fine now however I still cant use my clippers on his legs so replacement ideas would be appreciated. I clip his legs every few weeks all year around so need to be fairly hard wearing.

many thanks

Katie

You will not go wrong with liveryman harmony clippers. They are a clipper and not a trimmer but not much different really.

The cordless version has a separate battery that you clip onto your belt, which connects via a lead which means you will not have the out and out agility of a small cordless trimmer. They cost £215.

The corded version is pretty much the same in function (other than the inability to run it in the middle of nowhere!) but costs almost half price at £120.

What set either apart from something like a wahl pro series, (which I would usually recommend as they are essentially faultless) is that you can put a wide blade on them if you want them to use them for anything more meaningful.

Also, for your consideration is a Moser Arco. Again completely faultless other than a slightly suspect blade latch that, when broken can render the blades useless. It is as light and quiet as any trimmer out there. The price is also reasonable for what it is! They cost £98.

As I said above, I usually recommend the Wahl Pro Series. It is compact, incredibly versatile and light. You can use it as a standalone cordless clipper or plug the cord in and power it from the mains. Ultra reliable and powerful for the reasonable price of about £40.

Hope this helps!

Lister Libretto's-run off the same battery pack as my Lister Liberty's, absolutely brill for the coblets legs, I have coarse and fine blades on the Libretto to start and finish them off. I can do full grown out legs on either clipper and can even hog with the small ones and coarse blades.

Buy the pack with both clippers in, you will never need anything else! I think I got mine from clippersharp or farmcare on offer.

I already have the Lister Liberty's but I bought them before they did the twin pack so might see if I can buy them seperatly
