Morning forum, for the winter my beasties are off the field and living on hardstanding with access to barn and sand school. 2 of them have weight to lose so i am giving them haynets 3 times. I am going on holiday soon and really atrugglung to find a freelance groom that come twice a day. Having a permanent source of food for a week gives them a bit more flexibility with the times they can get to them. They are all barefoot. Can anyone recommend me one with small holes, they seem to vary alot in price so i am gueasing this is due to quality. Also, as the hay bale runs out does it just end up a squashy blob on the floor. I am hoping it will last a week feeding 3, my bales currently last 10 days feefing approx 30kg per day but i am guessing the fatties will atuff their faces all day long. Can anyone share their experiences with me of these, i have never seen one in use. Thanks?

If you have the funds then nibbleze are great, if you want value for money then look up the ropeseller online and on eBay-his nets are very good for the price and he delivers very quickly.

Thanks, i will have a look at both. It was really only to use for 1 week but then if it saves me feeling nine nets a day all winter i may reconsider ?

I use ropeseller ones in a ring feeder. I purchased two three years ago and I am still using the first one. The previous make of net only lasted one winter and had too many mended holes to carry on using, I replaced with another brand and despite being for large round bales they were like mini skirts and I had to use two stitched with bale band to encircle the whole bale.

Thanks, do you use this without the cattle feeders to enclose it. I prefer not to use one of those as mary is likely to manage to cause a mischief with that. The smallwr the holes the better as they are greedy buggers

Thankyou for the suggestions i will take a look at them all. The Marsnets appear to be sold out at the moment but i shall compare to the nibleze ones. ?
