Please tell me these aren't what I think they are - sarcoids :(

New youngster has already been through a lot in his short life, and has now sprouted lumpy bits on his nose :( They've popped up within 2 or 3 days. I've never had experience with sarcoids, and am praying they are not but from googling, I could now cry. Could it be an allergic reaction instead?! (Clutching at straws). He's been changed to brewers yeast from pink powder, hay to hayledge and shavings to wood pellets in the past few weeks, most recent change is from the pink powder to brewers yeast. Any advice?! Vet will see him anyway, they're out on the 9th.

In my experience these are just little warts that go away in time by themselves - I've had a few youngsters with these and have never had any trouble with them.
 
I'm certainly no expert on sarcoids but the fact that so much has change in a few weeks, I think you could be looking at an allergy of some sort? Sounds more likely I think. One of them looks more like he's caught himself on something? Maybe that's just the pic.
Google can be scary and you always hone in on the worst car scenarios! Been there!
 
Ezililaur, I may take him off the brewers yeast and see if that makes a difference. The changes to everything have been over 2 months, not all on the same day/week, but I was trying to think of anything and everything it could be. Thank you for the replies :) the part where it looks like he's caught himself is a cluster of the 'things' that have flattened the fur on his nostril. I'd have better pics if he hadn't been trying to eat the camera :D
 
Juvenile warts, no issue at all. Don't change anything, they will go in a few weeks. Perfectly normal on a two year old :)

I held my breath earlier this year, I bought a four year old horse with sarcoids who had fifty or more juvenile warts on his sheath. They all went thank goodness, and I've managed to get rid of the sarcoids too :)

I love this forum for the way we old timers can help to newbies,. Safety in numbers too, GS has loads of experience with youngsters.

No experience with youngsters so thought of the first thing that came to my head!

Hey, it gave me something else to consider and calmed my fretting little brain so don't be embarrassed ezililaur. It was a helpful suggestion.

This forum is brill for things like this :) I'll stop poking them now and leave the poor pony be haha.

No, please, sometimes 'out of the mouths of babes' provides a real insight to those of us who think we know it all. Don't feel embarrassed, you were helping and that's all that matters.

My OH knows nothing about horses and I've lost count of the number of times he's made suggestions and I've started to say 'that won't work because ....' and I've tried what he has suggested and it works.
 
Don't worry if they multiply and get bigger over the next few months even. My 2 yr old looked soooo ugly last year - covered in the blighters for about 3 months. Then they just fell off and were gone within a few weeks. You're right to keep an eye though as sarcoids are best treated aggressively and early for the best end result.
