please tell me what you think

Check for rust on the chassis, and check that the hinges for the ramps are sound. Jump up and down on the floor - if it gives in one area more than another then it will probably want a new floor in.

I don't like it personally. I don't get a good vibe from reading the listing and if you look at the seller's feedback, all the listings are private, which means you can't get a feel for what other stuff they've been selling (looks like junk if you ask me - a couple of pretty bad feedback comments).

The floor looks quite dodge too but I don't know anything about trailers, so don't go on what I'm saying. I just know a bit about ebay!

thanks guys as i said its my first trailer so i know virtually nothing about them if i go and see it i will have a good jump about and check everything

looks just like mine did!

Triple quadrouple check the floor a zillion times - I would get it replaced if you can possibly afford it.
Check the brakes are not rusty or jammed.
Be prepared to get seriously mucky scrabbling under and over everything!
Take a screwdriver for poking all the joints on the chassis and the floor (particularly near the edges at the back)
check the sunroof bit (mine had one) - its not expensive to fix if its wrong (but might help haggle the price!)

My local trailer dealer did an AA type checking service for 20quid and a cup of coffee - ask if someone near you might give it a second opinion (Even if its just a mechanic looking over the chassis for you!)

I would be very wary of a wooden floor, I previously has a Rice with a wooden floor and my horse HATED it, she wouldn't travel in it at all and put her off loading forever. It was my first trailer, and all I could afford at the time, (I was unaware of the additional bounce a wooden floor has), and it was an extremely costly mistake to make. Best of luck shopping, its a nightmare!

First one - no. Second one - looks better. Would get a knowledgable (sp) person to check it over. Whats your top budget figure? Personally I would go for the best you can afford. I have had an Ifor Willams 510 in the past (and have the same trailer back on loan as friend who owns it is pregnant at the mo and not using - spooky) and prefer them. My first trailer was a Rice and it was so noisy and dark and the horses didnt like travelling in it. I traded it in for the Ifor and it was like going from a mini to a limo. Was so much quieter and brighter inside and generally better built.

my budget was orginally £600 but i can just about go to £800ish if means be so if anyone knows of anything i dont mind travelling or bad paint work (daughter wants it pink) as long as its safe

we used to have a richardson which is similar to the rice's

things to watch are we had to replace the jockey wheel and had a lot of trouble getting hold of one the wrong side.

I would hitch/unhitch and drive it.

for reference we sold ours for £800 with the new owners aware of all its short comings :), it needed work on the ply on the floor (underneath so not the actual floor) work on the hitch, the lights were intermittent. We had had to have one of the sides replaced and had some of the interior refitted while we had it (it was still under warranty when this was done and it wouldnt be a problem with the alu rice's.

Check the front ramp hasn't warped at all (ours had a bit and would need replacing in the not to distant future).

The new owners wanted it though as it had a longer horse space than an ifor.

My friend recently sold her first trailer which was an old Rice for £800. She had just put a new floor in it and had it sprayed red but got a bargain deal on an Ifor her friend was selling so sold the Rice, it looked good when done up and was safe. Dont rush into it, something will come up.
