Thank you so much Kaylum - I have a real soft spot for any oldies but these two were rescued from a horrible life and are clearly a lot better now, they really deserve to be pampered and loved in their twilight years :)

Levrier, I might have asked you this before, but memory not what it was ! A greyhound would suit me and my lifestyle, but don't know If I would suit it! Most greyhound owners I know don't let off lead, and there is nowhere suitably enclosed I could let one have a gallop. I only have a small garden, think large patio. I do walk my dog 3 times a day, know greys only need 20 min at a time, but its the
galloping letting off steam time I worry that I wouldn't be able to supply ?

Are there no parks or enclosed foothpaths near you? I dont let mine off near roads or where there is easy access to one. They go for walks along the canal paths, down bridleways and in parks and open fields. We've never struggled to find anywhere to let them off :)

It isn't ideal if they can't get off the lead, but at the same time I know a lot of them don't! I have always let mine off in controlled situations - not necessarily an enclosed area, but somewhere they won't encounter other small fluffies, you do get to have a 6th sense about other dogs approaching.... Maybe you could offer a home to an older hound that didn't need as much exercise?

Aw bless them. It is always so sad to see oldies in rescue. I so hope they find their much deserved twilight home soon.
