We don’t often hear about good experiences with saddle fitters, just thought I’d share mine. :)

If anyone remembers I had originally used a fitter that had came out 3 times already and tried a few well known brands but none fitted, so decided to go further afield and try somewhere with a bigger variety.

I boxed up to Colne Saddlery (Cheltenham) on the weekend, over a hour away and the longest journey for my 4yo. She loaded & travelled perfect.

Maurice met us on arrival and asked what I was looking for and budget. He just looked at her and went off to get some saddles to try.

The arena is lovely, a nice surface (amazing view too!) with some jumps.

I ended up trying a K&M Jump saddle, which she felt really ‘loose’ (if that’s possible?!) and happy in. Maurice explained everything in detail and said he would have a 2-3k+ variety of saddles that would fit, but it would be silly fitting such an expensive saddle on a growing youngster that will probably outgrow any saddle in a couple of years.

Came away with a new K&M saddle, which was under my budget and bonus - if you travel to them you don’t pay for the saddle fit.

Would definitely recommend, their saddle room he showed us after must of had 500+ saddles in. The amount of stock was unbelievable!
