Pleasure Ride Schooling?? Possible...

I love pleasure rides. Just so much fun for horse and rider.

OP just ride round with one other horse on the next one. It will ne much easier for you and your horse to cope with.

Ignore his excitment, and just enjoy the scenery. When you get the opportunity do let him have a real blow out. It will do him the world of good.

It was a pleasure ride out of the ordinary thinking about it when your stood at the bottom of a hill watching around 30 riders disappearing up it no wonder that poor chap brain went into overload mode! :D

Have you thought about contacting your local EGB Group ,they have lots of things that would be of help.

Your local group is "The Heart Of England" their website is http://www.heartofenglandegb.co.uk/

Also look at the EGB main site. http://www.endurancegb.co.uk/

I'm looking on their websites at the min :)

Oh yes definitely - if NikiCB can give me another lift! ;)

:) exciting - that would be very cool!

Thanks :) he was fab! You looked to have a wonderful time too :) to OP, I also agree with you, my boy became a LOT more het up on the ride even compared to hunting, I just made sure I rode him in a way that allowed him his energy in a positive manner, but people have some very useful ideas! :D

Sorry can't quote on my phone - Irishbabygirll, yeah it was my first! Yours too then I assume? We jumped the brush thing before too, he was fab, very proud :D

He's not bad for a scrubby bog pony :) if I do say so myself ;) OP, I hope you manage to get your boy to settle and you can enjoy it all! Sensible company is by far one of the deciding factors for my boy's attitude, and I hope you crack it soon to make the most of the summer rides! :D x

thank you - I'm sure he will, his such a lovely boy just don't think his ever really had fun before so it blows his brain when he does don't think he can believe his luck! :)

:) I'm sure there's worse things! It took my boy about 2 times to settle hunting, and he was okay in a similar situation today, but he prefers the company and he relaxes more with it, rather than getting excited- especially if the company is sane :) good luck! :D
