vet has just been (not normal vet) he put cream Flamazine onto her wound is that right?? other vet gave it to me for her skin ? it says on tub for external topical use only.
pls help...

pretty certain i have used this on a wound, think it has silver in it and helps promote healing, again was given to me by vets, by external it means not to be injested?

ok just wanted to check as wasn't given it to put on wound and was alittle concerned.

Silver sulfadiazine belongs to the class of medications called topical antibiotics. It is used to treat and prevent infection of skin wounds, especially in victims of serious burns. It may also be used in leg ulcers, skin grafts, surgical incisions, and minor cuts and scrapes. It is applied directly to the wounded area, and works by killing the bacteria that may cause infection.

It is great stuff for wounds. It does discolour on contact with air so don't panic if it looks a funny colour later
