Preferably Equestrian but open to anything cheerful and entertaining also Kindle books maybe? I’ve started listening to the new Pippa Funnel one, think it’s called ‘Talk Equestrian’ and also I listen to Esme’s Country life. I’ve also watched all of Clarkson’s Farm and loved that

Just finished the horses for the evening and these long dark evenings are starting to get to me. I always hate January anyway as I just feel there’s nothing to look forward to. My motivation is low, I feel like I’m being short tempered and irritable even around the horses which is something I hate but with the mud and the weather I’m struggling. Today is worse than normal because I’ve stayed in all day so it feels like a never ending day! What does everybody do in the evenings when they are at home?

Not equestrian but countryside. I watched a programme where several farmers were in competition for a farm tenancy in Northumberland. That was quite interesting. Can’t remember what it was called but might be worth a google? I listen to equiratings podcast during eventing season.

I don't watch much TV but like to listen to podcasts while doing other stuff in the evening (jigsaw, embroidery, paint by numbers).

For a general countryside, farming and food the Farmerama podcast is good.

Or the Infinite Monkey Cage and
The Unbelievable Truth for general trivia/science.

There are quite a few complete audiobooks on YouTube, though unfortunately you increasingly you have to skip the ones read by an AI robot.

YouTube is brilliant. Hours of stuff to watch.

Not horsey but I love Simon Sinek, A Bit of Optimism. His weekly podcasts have the most amazing guests with really good global topics. Well structured and easy to listen to.

I gave up on the equestrian podcasts as they are very unstructured, full of fluff and motherhood statements that I just wasn’t getting anything practical out of.

HBR have really good podcasts as well on AI, which include quality research and also align to their essay series. You have to subscribe though for a fee.

Not exactly what you asked for but I'm currently studying for a part-time masters degree around my job/family/horse commitments. I don't watch much TV! 😂 I have also in the past done evening courses for BHS exams at local riding schools or colleges.

I know how you feel as it’s this time of year I always doubt whether I really want to do horses anymore!
Podcast wise, I haven’t found a decent horsey one other than the eventing podcast.
Non horsey, I do enjoy Strangers on a bench, which is random conversations with, you’ve guessed it, strangers on a bench.
YouTube is an absolutely mine of horsey videos. You name it they have it!

If you can find it the New Year's eve concert from the Champs Elysées included a 5 minute slot from Les folies Gruss. They had a good half dozen horses "on stage" with riders defying gravity in ways I'd not seen before.
Les folies Gruss normally perform in Paris except for the summer months when they are in Béziers which is where I now intend going to see all 50 horses plus 25 riders.

Fed by Farmers is a really good one with very interesting and diverse guests that are more than 'just' farmers. Some of the jokes are 'cliquey' but you can cherry pick the episodes to suit.

I used to enjoy Buck Off Banter, the old episodes are still online. The earlier content is more engaging.

The Shropshire Witches is very good. Alix the presenter is a sheep farmer and country lass. The folklore and history is very interesting. It is unique and women positive content.

all of the equestrian influencers you can think of, it was great over christmas because they did vlogmas and there was loads to watch but struggling to find anything new now!
Simon Grieve has started one. I also have a strong interest in Eventing Journey https://youtube.com/@eventingjourney232?si=DxlLWJZXTMkL04AE

Fred Scala does one which combines a podcast. Henry Boswell does one for dressage. So a few you might not have come across other than the normal 6 that everyone knows about.
Boyd Martin has some ones on YT that are for his owners but really interesting to watch.
I watch a few behaviour ones like Steve Young and old Warwick Schiller ones.

Since we bought a tv with youtube on it ,we often spend whole evenings watching vlogs, and daily catch up with *.
Horsey favourites :
Matt Harnache & Jesse Drent
Fletcher farms ,Amarillo
Free spirit equestrain
Lockie Phillips
MSG Polo/eventing
Rayleigh Link
Whizzy Welsh eventing
Non horsey:
Hoof GP
*Escape to Rural France
