What is the maxium weight they carry in a race?
I'm due to take a fit, well muscled 16.1hh ex P2P autumn hunting next week, but I'm worried I am too heavy for him really.
I have hacked and cantered him fine and I have trotted him up a very steep hill that is about 4 miles long and he never felt like he was struggling.

i think they carry about 12 stone max (i could be wrong as it's been years since i worked with the pointers). hopefully someone with recent and less fuzzy knowledge can give a more definite answer

12st 5lb is the maximum but bear in mind thats over 3 miles at galloping pace and over jumps - you won't be doing that out hunting ! I wouldn't worry about it unless you weigh considerably more than that.

Thanks all. I'm 11 stone so hopefully he will be fine. I don't think we will be jumping anything but where my boss goes I have to follow so who knows.
