Does anyone have one of these as opposed to a standard body protector...?

Whats the feedback, good, bad...haven't had a chance to test it yet..lol..?

Are you allowed to compete in them for XC or hunters trials instead of using a body protector..?

They are expensive at £400 ish but my body protector is so uncomfortable and restrictive and the few that I have spoken to that have them have said they dont even know they are wearing them as are like riding in a gilet....?

When they go off did it scare your horse more ....or is it so quick they dont notice..?

Any experiences with these would be great.

Thanks :-)

check out motorcycle version.got one on evil bay for about
$170. Try searching for airbag jacket. I can't. See much difference.

They are not an 'instead of' product, they HAVE to be used as well as a standard bp for competing where a bp is mandatory (obviously if you choose to use only an air jacket for leisure riding that is your choice). Personally I don't wear one as I have concerns regarding the safety of them (if you do a search on here you will find plenty of information).

As to the noise, it really depends on the horse. I have been riding out with a friend when they fell and activated their P2 and neither horse was that bothered but have heard and seen horses spooking violently (I am fairly sure Karen O'Connor mentioned the noise of the P2 as contributing to Mandiba's horrific accident at Badminton last year)

P2 are also not the only licensed airjacket for use with riders, a number of forum users use Hitair instead :)
