slightly annoying, pointless rant. Just need to get it off my chest that's all. TBH I have other, more important things to worry about!

I've just been up to the yard to find my showing bridle, and expensive jefferies rope (at least £150 pounds worth of kit, which was all imaculate as I only ever use it for shows) muddy, scratched and has obviously been hung up on a gate post in the rain, as the leather is all tacky, and my special and expensive rope looks like its been chewed and trodden on :(

My horse is on livery, and I haven't been up since Thursday as I was working away. He has a chifney hanging outside his stable, for use if the girls find him too fresh to lead up in a headcollar (he is 17.2 and the girls who turn out the horses are very small)
Anyway, my showing bridle and special rope were taken out of the locked tackroom, and I've just found them hanging outside his stable in an awful state :(

I'm very cross atm, but don't want to cause an awkward scene. I think I'll just take it home, and not bother mentioning it.

Now now, some times things need addressing - its not so much making a scene as stopping a repeat performance. I would be apoplectic myself - I have very few nice things and I'd be hopping mad if it were me!

I feel your pain!

*hugs* I disagree, you should DEFINATELY mention it and express that you are not happy. It's your property, it wasn't cheap, and it has been ruined.

I presume from your post you are paying for livery rather than someone doing you a favor by turning out for you?
Would definetly bring it up, that is unacceptable behaviour.

Yes I am on full livery. I think you're right I will mention it. If they had just led him up and brought it back down with them it wouldn't have been so bad, but it was clearly left hanging on the field gate post in the rain, for the horses to have a good play with and chew on!

im fuming for u. i cant afford a 150 bridle and kit and u obviously apreciate the fact u have it and care for it. people should really learnt to repect other people and there belongings. what makes people think it is ok to do these things. i would bring it up politely with the yard manager and if anything has to be replaced i would charge the yard as it is down to them to keep your stuff safe and if there were problems the other way round im sure u would be charged. where did they get the key from.

Yes I do find it frustrating when others take short cuts to get their jobs done quickly, and they don't seem to realise how much things are worth. I had to ask twice previously this year for my brand new Rambo sweetitch hoody, not to be left hanging in the mouldy pool of water at the bottom of the leaky roofed rug room!

As you know, these rugs are very expensive, and it was only a few days old when I noticed the bottom half was stained black. What is more annoying I anticipated this would happen when I bought it and I showed everyone the hanging loop on the tail flap, which meant it was easy to hang it off the slimy flooded floor. The stains have never washed out.

If you dont mention it it will be seen as acceptable.
Dont just mention it tell that that you are very annoyed and upset that your property has been abused in such fashion. You will at least expect them to clean and oil the kit back to its original condition, if the kit is not in a condition that you feel is acceptable for showing you will, passing on the bill for the cost of a replacement
