Pointless happy thread - tell me what you've done today

Not much tip day but I've been very ill this week and Lurcherlu has done Ben for me, I've felt a lot better today so did Ben this evening... It exhausted me but it was so good to see him :) my mate has gone to a funeral so I've come to hers to house sit for a week with my whippet, it's been lovely and quiet, and my friends pug has a kind of hero worship puppy love thing going on with my whippet, currently it's a one way thing, but daisy is being incredibly tolerant.

This is all fab, up until now they have had to be separated because pug is so enthusiastic that she runs around after daisy, freaking the old girl out, so to have them both chilling on the sofa together is a huge step, even if daisy is still rather unamused!

Well, I haven't ridden for months due to various reasons but last week I was offered a fabulous mare to ride as her owner has bought a youngster and just wants her mare exercised to keep her fit as she hasn't got time to ride her as much as she would like. I have taken her out twice this week and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I thought I had lost all interest in riding but maybe not. Also today my three minis are so overjoyed at a rain and wind free day they have been galloping around the field playing for most of the day, an absolute joy to watch. Happy horses, happy owner.

Been to dressage and fixed fences so we had a good day today too. Pony was 3rd in her class much to her riders amusement as she had been stupid and spooky in the warm up freaking out big style at the white boards

I mucked out etc, I showed a fellow livery girl how to lunge her pony. I took my horse for a walk in hand in the sun for 20 minutes. I took the YO's horse for a hack with a new livery lad. I had a rather productive day :)

A group of us went out for hack and my young cob was great even though he has not been ridden for a few weeks. We took him up stairs and he did not bat an eye, I am happy how we are getting along being brave together.

The day started well with good intentions. Pony has not done a lot over the past couple of months, so a good grooming session was in order first (Thank god i rugged this winter), tacked up and looking all smart, sun shining, not windy, what do we do?, sensible side got the better of me and decided to do half hour in the school, started well, lots of nice walk trot transitions, lovely forward trot (normally typical sulky cob in the school), Then I am not sure what happened, decided that every time we went in one corner would bronc like a child (he is 21!!). Would not stop it ! managed to stay on, but now on sofa nursing pulled stomach muscles, tweeky back and waiting for my neck to stiffen.

nice that he is feeling well though !!

and there was me thinking he should be slowing down and is looking old !!! so wrong !!

4 hour hack in glorious sunshine, my section d mare turned briefly into a TB on acid and jogged for a good two hours, then got so sweaty thought she should roll! Once we left the two geldings we were with and hacked back with field mate mare we turned back into cobby plod, thank the Lord!

Went swimming with my sister and best friend in a private pool was fun and we were v immature lol then had bfast with them. Came home and chilled for 30mins then went to the yard, threw balls for my dog which is her favourite game, friend rode my sisters horse who has just come sound and was v well behaved then I rode my boy who was a superstar then had a lovely family t and an now chilling out about to watch hostages after just having watched some German show jumper on h&c! Sounds perfect lol but I didn't mention that I ripped my finger nail off getting off my horse or ignored all my housework again. I know oh will do it but the guilt I feel makes it not worth it lol oh and my sister bought the wrong chaff so that was a drama lol but it was a beautiful day here so I'm happy

Spent the morning at work (urgh) but made up for it by having a lovely ride in the school this afternoon. My horse is slowly understanding how to carry himself nicely! Then got a job at the local yard. Pretty happy now :)

We have had a blissful day today - out on the pony with hubs and the lab, then off for sunday lunch, back for a bit of poo picking (urgh) and putting the lad to bed. We both love the simple life.

OK, don't hate me, but it's summer here and I had a fabulous weekend with my favourite man. Lovely ride on the beach on Saturday, then he got a bath and tidied up and we were at a dressage comp with friends yesterday. When we wern't riding, we sat in the sun and gossiped. Just the best way to spend a weekend.
