Maybe its because she turned 5 in horsey years on 1st of Jan ( officially not 5 till June ) but the past 2 days she has full on shocked me!

Yesterday my very good friend took her on a 2 hour advanced ride out ( long story was meant to be away which changed @ last minute & had no one to take the kids so gutted I missed it. ) This would have been her first time out with a large enough group of horses since our hunting disaster couple mths ago:rolleyes:
Anyhow was there to see them off & to greet them when they got back & she went brill - couple of " moments" which are normal for a baby & she did dump the girl who rode her ( who rides her once a wk for me ) due to taking a 1m jump over a log in the ground & them spooked @ a " hole in the ground.. LOL - everyone was fine. She had to go across a busy road, no probs, didn't like some metal barriers but hadn't seen them before - enjoyed a couple of CONTROLLED Gallops but didn't try anything silly at all... She had a blast!
As usual when coming back from a hack/ridout a about a km from the yard she picked up the pace & if she had been in a Dressage arena would have scored a 10  -

Pic below before they went out - I really think she is growing into her looks:)

Onto tonight - well I have royally messed my back up - had full assesment with Physio this afternoon, great pyhsio to gets " horse riders" - Id a nasty fall mths & mths ago & she is reckoning I had trauma to my pelvis which in turn has affected my right hip & I also have a very imobile lower back aswell has possible disc issues between No 4 & 5 Vertabre... Tons of exercises to do.
She said " Im not going to tell you you cant ride as I know you are going to " so we have made a deal, I cut down & keep sessions short....
We are looking at weekly physio now for quite some time but if I do all my exercises I should be fine & being in the Saddle genuinely loosens me up:) LOL

So plastered myself in deep heat & off we went for our group lesson tonight... well am shocked, my Mare couldn't have taken better care of me - Ive never worked so little, she was straight off the leg, was introduced to Cavaletti for the first time & we had to do them in trot with no reins:eek: doesn't sound like much but when my mare sees a raised pole she is normally like WOHOO jumping time! She was totally balanced , lovely rhythm most of the time & zero funny business..
We then went on to do them in Canter ( again a new thing for her ) & she was a star - actually since Ive had her which is 7mths now it is the bloody best session of canter work she has ever done - and she was LOOKING for the CONTACT???? She has never done this unaided before!
I might be mad but heck she took care of me tonight - it was as if she knew I wasn't 100% - anyhow I know most of you will think I am a bit loopy but she just felt different tonight.

lol - not quite! I must come over and visit her sometime, been meaning to for ages!

I haven't seen her ride for a long time, but must say, she looks to be sitting well! Was it her that came off?

Yep it was - She is a great rider, I trust her 150% with my horse. She has a nice seat & very kind hands.. She has been helping me out for a Number of months with exercising my mare wouldnt have anyone else do it! ( Your cousin will tell you my horse is like a third child - am very protective ) We only know each other 7mths now but she is definately one of my closest friends:)
