Since getting him in september we've had a few issues with him and farrier, he was very bad in his last home for them and the farriers where relieved that once he was sold they wouldn't have to do him again!! Unfortunately for them our normal farrier refused to do him as he's a shire x so we had to ask them to continue doing him.

He's not really bad but he does mess around a bit and being 16.3hh it's not fun or fair on them when he won't stand or is trying to go up. Anyway today was about the fourth time he's been done and everytime he's improved and today was his best yet, he really tried to be good and stand still :)

So just very proud of him, he got alot of pats and well dones. Also big compliments to the lads that do him, they are very very good and patient with him but also don't mess about so he's not kept hanging around xxx

Yay well done for you, it's little progressions like that that can really make your day.

And I had the same trouble when I got my girl, no one would shoe her! Took me ages to find someone, and she's not even a full shire. Whenever a farrier turned up on the yard I'd go over and ask if he would take us on, they'd take one look at the size of her feet and say no.
