i have badly jarred my knee this weekend getting down off my little 15.1 horse...he's been off work for 12 weeks with an injury and in that time ive only ridden 16.2 to 17.1 horses, i forgot how short my horse was and wasnt ready for the landing

what pointless and embarrassing injuries has anyone else had?
 
Stepped out of the lorry living door and fell flat on my face.
Had forgotten I went in via ramp and through horse area so living steps were still up

Yep, I've done that one too!
 
was riding a larger horse than usual through the woods and was messing about adjusting my stirrups when i rode face first into a branch...didnt half smart i can tell you
 
My poor YM is still off because of hers - horse spooked on a fun ride, she almost went out of the side door but didn't - so all OK...NOPE, she snapped all of the ligaments in her ankle

ive had a few of those......i am v clumsy

fell up the ramp while leading a horse in the horsebox, he carried on going....

yep ive fell out the horse box as well thinking the steps were down - they weren't....

dismounted the wrong way of a horse (right leg over the neck! v naughty i know) and the horse i was ring had those safety stirrups that kids use....i caught the catch of it on my jodpurs and they ripped and caught my bum too....

i could go on...! xxx
 
Not really bad but i was turning round to talk to my friend and mid-sentence she just says "tree!"

wacked my head off this big branch that was hanging down and it really hurt! lol. my neck rather than my head though coz of my hat.
 
Breaking my leg was pretty pointless - usually when you land on your feet your leg doesn't snap

. I know someone that fell off when the horse was standing still and broke their arm, and someone else that fell off the muckheap and broke their ankle

i got legged up onto a fat cob once to ride bare back from the field, went straight over the other side and landed on my wrist! xxx
 
I was being cocky and riding out without stirrups, an older lady on the yard said i'd fall off. Well I start exiting the yard, my horse stumbles and I fell straight off, very embarassed
 
you know those long riding wax macs that have straps fastning aroung your legs? getting off the horse one time i got the leg strap stucj and got hung up on my saddle

Jumped out of friends lorry carrying a saddle-no steps from living like mine, forgot laws of gravity pitched forward mid jump and landed in a heap on top of saddle.

Forunately the saddle was ok and I just had bruised knees. I go down the ramp on her lorry now!

Managed to sprain my ankle the other week when horse refused a fence and my foot slipped out of the stirrup iron.

I've also managed to tear my adductor muscles trying to cling on when horse has stopped

I gave some one a leg up once and they got the end of the whip caught around my earring proceeding to pull me off my feet by my earlobe- it was VERY painful. Don't wear them any more- lesson learnt!
 
I got a leg up and I flew over the other side that was ages ago when I had old pony.

Erm have also fell of the side of a ramp headfirst into a water bucket

The list is endless really,
Most involve wagons though lol. Have fell out of wagon when I thought steps was there.
Oh and I was going with friend to have wagon cleaned she was driving and said oh need to close the windows in horse area, Me being the bright spark I am said I will go do it, Flippin eck its very wobbly in the horse area when wagon is moving.

I climbed onto this thing to get windows up and i lost balance fell back and knocked myself out. Lol that probs be the stupidest one
 
in march i was trotting through some woods that id been through about 100,000 times. spot slipped fell over and landed on my foot!
i fractured a metatarsel and althogh the original diagnosis was 5-6 weeks in plaster

i must have strong bones as it mended within a week!

Getting on bareback i fell off the otherside, toataly smashed my arm, 6 hour operation and 3 years later my thumb is still paralysed .

My dad fell off at a hunt meet riding into a tree and then after cracked his head open buying and ice cream at a garage on the way back!!

that has soooo cheered me up sorry to laugh at others misfortunes but i would sooo have loved to see this one!!!!
 
not so funny when you're dangling off the side of a horse by a seemingly indestructable strap, luckily horse just seemed amazed at my antics as i flailed about

Fell off my friends pony while jumping once because I had forgot to do the grith up tighter.

Gypsy cat-jumped a fence and I landed on the jump- got some nice bruises from that one.

Septre bucked me off into a fence post resulting in a split ear.

Um thats all I can think of for now. My pointless jitsu injury list is far more impressive

Slipped over in the muddy gateway (which also happened to be the drainage point for the muckheap) and fractured my wrist - in so much pain had to go to hospital with mud and s**t all over me and arm strapped up in smelly old horse bandage. Tried telling everyone I'd feel off a 17hh doing a 4 foot jump but no one believed me.
Had my little pony in school, she had a great trick of cantering horizontally across the school, got to the other side, spun, left me half on horse, half on fence with a fractured collar bone and my friend asking me "what are you doing", for some reason she thought it was on purpose!!!

I managed to cut the top knuckle of my index finger cutting carrots with a bot knife!! I have a permanent scar and must have severed something useful, as I've never been able to straighten it since! How stupid?!!
 
Fell off at a gate once - leaned over to fasten the catch and my girth wasn't tight ...

Fell off again at a gate as my stirrup caught on the catch - I stopped but horse didn't ...

Fell off after trying to use my whip to flick a short piece of loose wire back off the road into thick verge grass - it turned out to be 9 feet long, bounced up, caught the horse and it was me who ended up on the verge.
