I'm curious to hear some other opinions on this one..
Pony came in from field yesterday with slightly swollen/puffy lips, and was unusually subdued, head down, not interested in food (usually greedy piglet), and stomach very tense, and rippling with spasms, did 1 very runny poo.
Vet came out as colic suspected, though no rolling, looking at belly etc... Vet gave Buscopan and told them to withhold feed for a few hours, then try a very sloppy feed, and give him small sloppy feeds a few times through the night at 3-4 hourly intervals. Buscopan made a huge difference and pony obviously a lot more comfortable, but no more poo until 10am today, and pony still looking quite unsettled, though not depressed. Vet doesn't seem concerned, and hasn't come back out.
I should add that the field pony's kept in is bare, really really bare, just mud/dirt and whatever weeds are growing in hedge that they pick at... which is why I'm querying poisoning??
