Would anyone know where I could find a Poitevin gelding/stallion as I would love to own one. Or would it be possible to find out any French horse sales that could be selling to meat men?
I'm not sure 100% where to buy one though look in the Charente maritime and deux sevres . I do however know that you are highly highly unlikely to find them going to the meat man. They are valuable in France and globally for several reasons. They are still a very rare breed. Are often used to create the Poitou mule which are also valuable and are fantastic in their own right. If you are interested I would take a trip to the Poitou region of France and investigate![]()
Had a look on find your horse and they have none for sale at the moment but there is a very nice trait breton colt for 500 euros (trait bretons are supposed to be a bit better for riding as a bit more athletic). Otherwise there are a few trait poitevins for sale here: http://www.racesmulassieresdupoitou.com/trait-poitevin-a-vendre/
Are the prices min and max? Or is the horse definitely priced between the two?
