Police Breaking the Law?

Three policemen, a sniffer dog and two alsatians in pursuit of a criminal.

Is this in contravention of the Hunting Act? If not, why?

To be fair a sniffer dogs job is not to be chasing. It picks out a scent. In general labs and springers are used as sniffers, GS to do the chasing if needs be.

Surely not as long as they shoot their quarry as soon as it if flushed from its hiding place!!!!

On 2nd thoughts if a 'cat burglar then O.K. Don't think the law applies to dogs chasing cats!!!!

It depends how wild the criminal is.

They should probably shoot him just in case.

RS 's position would be - shoot him just in case and wait for the judge to tell you if you did the right thing.

Doesn't really matter if this in contravention of the Hunting Act or not, as it is rarely inforced. Even if the police were to decide they had broken the law, they are more likely yo give themselves a slap on the wrists!!!
