Police dog attacked with machete by 16 year old.

I know many people disagree withg the use of police dogs, but maybe better him than his human? And better him than the boy getting shot?
Incredibly brave dog though and I'm glad he should physically recover.

I wish PD Stark a speedy recovery and can only hope (forlornly!) that the young thug who inflicted such horrible injuries will be dealt with appropriately. Sadly, even with Finn’s Law, our justice system is far too lenient IMO.

I have the greatest respect for the police and their police dogs..it is a very hard job .I hope the brave handler and dog recover without lasting trauma .
I also hope sentencing is strict and effective for this incident.

It's the risk we run when we use animals as tools and one of the reasons I sometimes have ethical issues with the deployment of dogs/horses etc. Hope all concerned make a full recovery and get the assistance they need.

Clodagh I'm not sure I can agree it's better than the boy being shot. Especially as a shooting doesn't have to be fatal
