does anyone just get fed up of the politics that seems to go with having your horse at livery. I love my yard and its taken me sich a long time to find one but sometimes it drives me insane with the amount of "he said, she said" and walking on eggshells that you have to do!

Just ranting!!!!!!!

Sorry.

I like to go about the yard in my own little bubble, trying my best to ignore such comments..

But i know what you mean, don't get sucked in by it all, the only reason i may be unpopular at times on my yard is because i won't be drawn into the b**chfest!!

Whenever I read posts like yours I am grateful that I chose to have a bigger mortgage and keep my horse at home. I may not have the best facilities in the world. But I only have myself to please. My horse and pony are content and so am I.

Don't get me wrong, its a great little yard, lovely people, cheap, close to home etc. Its just things can be taken the wrong way and often you don't even know things were taken the wrong way until you realsie that your texts aren't been replied to etc. You then have to spend ages disecting everything that has gone on to try and figure out why someones nose it out of joint!

It drives me mad when i work hard on my PhD, am stressed to my wits end and my mare is my sanity. I have bigger fish to fry at the mo than worrying about who has misinterupted me and when!

My old yard was a bit like this but I have quite recently moved and I must say there is no bitching whatsoever. I love my new yard and think I'm very lucky.

Totally. This is the first yard we've been on and it's like being back at school, only worse as nearly everyone there is an adult (on paper anyway!). Unbelievable. I try not to get involved but then people think I'm being stand-offish. Can't win !! Makes me feel better that's it's not just me going through this. Sometimes it gets me really depressed.

I absoultuly hate it, my current yard is the first yard I have ever stabled on and quite frankly I cannot wait to leave and take him back home. I have only been on the yard a matter of weeks and already I am fed up of it, the majority of the people are very friendly but like anywhere there is always one or two exceptions. Thankfully so far I haven't had much of the 'my horse is better than yours because of this, this, this and this' now that really does get on my nerves.

Glad it's not just me then!!! Our yard is owned by lovely, lovely people but since January it's just become a minefield!!!

One girl was loaning a pony and gave it back over an argument with someone else. She'd only had the mare on loan for about 10 weeks and she'd spent £100's on her (everything bar the saddle was replaced). I went to turn out yesterday morning and someone spoke in the wrong tone to someone else and another argument ensued. I now go after 9am during the week (am on maternity leave) and bring him in as late as poss because of this.

It's just playground behaviour on an adult scale!!!!

that is livery yards for you.... I tend to mind my own business now and keep myself to my self.....I wish I could have them at home

as you said plyground behaviour on an adult scale.

My yard has no manege which used to drive me nuts but it's a problem free yard so decided that I'd never move - everyone keeps there noses out of your business and are friendly/genuine. I work hard, drive 40 miles min a day 9 different shifts etc to keep my horse so will not even risk going to a different yard, been there and never again! Total bloody nightmare and all you want is the facilities to keep your horse - why all the crap?

Luckily my stable is in a block of two round the back out of the way so I just keep my head down! We've been on this farm just over a year and it's brill. Bob is so chilled compared to our previous yard and I'm much more relaxed as a result. We're going nowhere. It just seems to have gone very catty over the last couple of months.

Wouldn't we all like them at home??? I'm going to win the lottery this week!!
