poll gaurds

Hi Guys
Im lookinmg at getting a poll gaurd for my youngster 'Anakan'
as i would like to start taking out in the trailer and doing a bit with him. He can get a bit jumpy and tends to throw his head up in the air, im just a little concerned about him bumping his head on the trailer roof. he'l probably be fine, but i dont want to take any risks.
He has only been in the trailer once and thet was when i collected him when i bought him.
Im not quite sure which one to get the poll gaurd which is like a leather padded sausage that the head collar threads trough, or the poll gaurd cap???

Any body tried either of them,what are your veiws, please.

I have used the sausage type and found them sufficent, I always think the cap ones look stupid!!!!

I have the cap as think it gives better protection (even if it looks stupid

My lad has got the cap type, I don't care what it looks like it protects him well & that's what I bought it for.

I bought a cap but it rubbed the base of D's ears so I got a Jefferies Strip one off Ebay for £5, bargain!

I prefer the strip ones now.
