Does anyone use one? Are they worth it? Daisy has a really high headcarriage when excited and while she will fit happily into her new box I'm worried about her doing a giraffe impression and bashing herself. How much head clearance would you want to have above your horse's head? How do you work it out? Presumably if you worked out how high your horse could get their head at its fullest extension then people with 17hh horses would never take them anywhere?

use one on our 2 16.1's and a 16.3 in the full size ifor williams after i saw a normally good traveller of 15.3 scalp himself when he put his head up to come out. like any piece of safety kit you never know if you need it until you do. deffo worth it

I use one all the time after a guy years ago lost his horse at an RC event. He was trying to load it and it hit it's head off the edge of the roof of the trailer, which split it's head open and it bled to death on the ramp

So now I never go anywhere without one even though my girl is very good at loading and has never hit her head (so far!) Better to be safe then sorry.

Here she is wearing her one

(It's leather with a thick foam lining)

Yes I use one!!! My girl looks like shes wearing a baseball cap, but I know shes safe. She is prone to throwing her head up when loading. They are so cheap, you might aswell get one for peace of mind.
