I want to buy a poll guard for my horse as he's prone to throwing his head up in the trailer. Most sorts seem to have ear holes, but look like they'd actually offer little protection. Robinsons sell a big half-moon shaped leather cushion (£30), which looks much better and fits over the headcollar headpiece. Would welcome your views...

I managed to get a Jeffries leather Poll Guard with thick felt padding under it off ebay. I believe it will offer significantly more protection to that of the Robinsons design. They are so expensive to buy new, I was fortunate to get mine which was virtually new & with no one else bidding on it I got it for a song!
