So how much would you charge for travelling (I'm in Lincolnshire btw)?

I normally pay £30 an hour but try and do a few things to blag some free ones! I am now staff at a place which has an equine department so hoping to get discount lessons as really like the way the head instructor teaches.

£20 for an hour, once a month. It was twice a month, but I had cut back for Christmas, and from January I will be going back to twice a month - one flat and one jump!

I pay £45 for 45 minutes private jumping lesson on Spider with an ex international event rider.
Plus I've just started having dressage lessons on Q with a local international dressage rider. He charges £45 for 30 minutes. He expects you to be warmed up & ready to go for your start time & by 29 mins I'm so exhausted that I'm def ready to finish

Both are well worth the money, as the improvement in me & the horses have been vast. As I'm paying more, I do have them less often than I'd want (I'd love to have a lesson each week

) But they give me loads to work on in between sessions. :-)
If finances allow, I try & have 1 a month with each instructor.
I also have a friend who teaches and she comes & helps me sometimes and she charges £20 an hour.

I stagger my lessons so have at least one lesson a week.

Session with my BSJA trainer every fortnight and he's £30 for 30 mins.

Session with my BE trainer every fortnight and he's £10 for 30 mins (don't ask!)

Session with my dressage trainer once a month and he's £25 for an hour.

And multiply that by two as I usually take two horses to each training session.

I have a jump lesson with Dougal every week and will start having one with Dext every week but trainer is on hols till xmas now anyway! I get on with him great and he really understand how tricky Dexter is, I pay £15 for about 40mins.

My dressage lessons are a bit more sparodic as dont need as much work on that! And it a solid hour of very intense work, only tend to have those about 5 times a yr or so

Like b4 the season starts, before a big event or something. And they are £40

well i pay 10 per lesson with my instructor but she has always been dead dgood to me and has helped me out for years i'm not sure what she charges normally.

having siad that i will try and have a lesson with a stressage person like once every other month just to keep the ol' flatwork in check and that comes out at about 30 per hour x

Daughter has a fabulous trainer in Pat Crann. Unfortunately we live 50 miles from her so don't get there as often as we would like. Daughter does however take both horses & go & stay with her for a few days at a time & has intensive training. This has brought her on really well. Pat primarily does SJ but is equally good at flatwork. She additionally goes to many of the shows we attend & gives advice & assists at these shows. She's always available on the phone to discus any problems etc & has become a good friend.
As for fees, that's a matter between her & her clients, but on what I have read in this thread she needs to increase her prices.

Rarely have training now.

Occasionally have a girl who comes to our yard who charges £25 for 45 minutes.

When Im feeling flush, I have training with an international rider, both for jumping or flat one costs me £40 an hour the other £60

Blimey you lot get some cheap lessons!
We have a couple of trainers who come to the yard, one is a BE accredited and one is a BSJA listed, they both charge £25 for a half hour session.

Dressage I used to pay a grade 1 listed judge £25 for about a 45mins session. We have a well-ish known dressage rider comes to the yard now and charges I think £40 for about 45mins (I don't use her).
I use our local trainer for flatwork, and jumping sometimes. She is excellent and charges £18 for a half hour session.

I try to have roughly one lesson a week, that could be jumping or flat and on one of two horses. So each horse gets a lesson once a fortnight.
