I'm happy for you to be in whatever position you like, as long as you comply with the law.

So it is lawbreaking that annoys you, not hunting. Therefore, how about doing something useful in your lonely little life and become a Special Constable?

Polls for this polls for that and no doubt they were charging premium rate so more fool you for donating them you’re easy money. We often see the poll for the reintroduction of the death penalty which apparently attracts more supporters than objectors but you know as well as I do that the death penalty will never be reintroduced so why don’t you just accept that the hunting act is in place and as law abiding citizens you are duty bound to work within the law.

I am duty bound to break immoral and unenforceable laws.

Why should I snare or poison foxes?

It is ridiculous.

The Exmoor National Park Authority thinks the Red Deer will be destroyed on Exmoor without hunting.

I think we had better continue and break the law.

I don't believe in the "laws" of this country anymore.

You are clearly taking advantage of our overstretched police force, yes they do need to prioritise and no doubt that any breaches within the hunting act would rightfully come second to a call for assistance by a member of the public but this does not make it right and you’re reference to immorality, I put it to you that the hunting of any creature with a pack of hounds is immoral.

"You are clearly taking advantage of our overstretched police force,"

Not really. They don't want to know.

If they want to catch someone they know where to look.

They are not that stretched in West Somerset, thats for sure !!!

" I put it to you that the hunting of any creature with a pack of hounds is immoral."

I can't see why?

Let me ask you two things...

1. Would you prefer me to use snares?
2. Who cares for the Exmoor Red Deer?

I am interested in you’re post where you refer to the poisoning of foxes, I was under the impression that this was highly illegal. Also I have had countless debates on another site on the subject snaring where I consider it to be a most inhumane method of control, I am pleased that a ‘pro’ like yourself agrees with me on one matter at least.

You are right.

"Also I have had countless debates on another site on the subject snaring where I consider it to be a most inhumane method of control, I am pleased that a ‘pro’ like yourself agrees with me on one matter at least."

But this "moral" government says it is fine. What a weird world !!!

I cant see how the Avon and Somerset Constabulary differs from any other British police force who are all extremely overstretched and need to fulfil the quotas and statistics as laid down by the home office. I think that we all agree that they need to prioritise this does not mean that they are paying no heed to the hunting act.

Fair enough.

Don't you think it is fairly ridiculous to introduce a law the police are unable to enforce.

They stop drink drivers.

They patrol the mean streets of Minehead.

They investigate burglaries.

But on a days hunting.........not a sight of them.

If they don't care why should we?

They think it is as stupid as we do.

Especially as they are all pro around here.

Just look at the past masters of the harriers !!!

All police officers should take a neutral stand on all matters, I accept that they have their own beliefs and mindsets and what they do in their own time is entirely up to them however when on duty they are duty bound to enforce the law and if they do not then they are simply not fit to hold office. You are also generalising the entire police force here which is wrong possibly this could be an opportunity for you or the CA to start another poll within the British police service.

"So possibly we should now press government for a ban on snaring, are you going to support this motion?"

No. It would be a bit silly of me wouldn't it?

So you do not agree with snaring yet you would not support a ban so who is the hypocrite

Again we agree ! Sack them !!!

No i'm not. I only know the ones in my area. Because I speak to them, or even (keep it quiet) related to them.

I don't think I will bother with a poll. I know the answer. Both official and the real one.

"So you agree that you are assuming the views of the many by those of the few within you’re area."

?????????????????? !!!!!

Well the police in West Somerset are not "many" and yes, I do know them all.

Their opinions vary between wanting to avoid the hunting at all costs to being actively pro.

And "here" is generally all I care about with regards to hunting.

I couldn't give a toss what Constable Balbir Singh in Southall thinks of hunting.
