Hi

I have a mare who has been on Ventapulmin as she had a cough due to the dust on hay.

I've stopped feeding her hay and if I really need to I feed it off the floor and wet.

She has now started head shaking and finding it hard to breathe when being exercised. she has never done this before and I think it's the dust and pollen.

I'm searching the net for a nose net and a fly mask with a built in nose net, and I'm looking for advice on what you all use.

any advice on what else I can do to relieve her from all of this would be gratefully appreciated.

My horse suffers with the pollen and I use the Equilibrium nose net. It probably costs more than the others on the market, but the fit is much better. It also comes in black, white and brown. I really notice the difference if I take it off to wash and forget to put it back on.

For fly mask I use Cashel Crusader Fly mask, but have noticed Premier Equine do exactly the same mask slightly cheaper. Hope this helps :)

my horse was exactly the same last year and headshakes in the summer since. for me best make is equilibrium. looks expensive but comes with 3 nets and i'm still on my first if you rinse them after every ride. stopped her shaking compleatly. if you compete the only one you can use legally is equilibrium.

same as others my mare wears an equilibrium net for riding and it really does make a difference, shes an ex-racer and gets wound up and hot the best of times so now with the weather how it is makes everything ten times worse but the nose net really does stop it.
