Anyone use this supplement? I've just bought it for my boy as he has hay fever like symptoms (I think he is allergic to the rape seed)

Only problem is, he won't eat it!! Put it in his feed tonight (just one scoop as it says to introduce it gradually) and he left half of his feed! He is not normally a fussy eater, but I tried everything - dampened it, added mint and lots of carrots, etc) and he still wouldn't eat it!! :( It does smell very strongly like curry powder though, so I'm not sure it would taste very nice! Poor pony looked at me as if he thought I was trying to poison him! :roll eyes:

Any ideas on how I can encourage him to eat it? Or should I just give up?! Does anybody else know of any other supplements for pollen allergies which is more palatable?!

Thanks :)

Hello,
My horse wouldn't eat the powder either. They do a liquid version which she loves though! Is sweet to taste so assume mollases based?

I try and use this over the summer too - but use the liquid version - I mix it in with chaff and some powdered D&H powdered hedgerow herbs and he eats that combo happily. I move between using AirwayPlus, and DustX in the winter and PollenX in the summer.

I tried several supplements which my boy did eat!! He will eat ANYTHING!!! But nothing seemed to really work. Have now got him on local honey!! My sister has it for her hayfever and really helps... so after conversations with my vet we decided to try it!! Pony LOVES it and boy it has helped :-)
He has an inhaler and was on limited turnout as he better when in stable - but since being on the honey he now has inhaler less and is out 24/7, in full work and rarely has bad breathing days :-) x
