Just had to share that I did a my first intro to polo course today. Always looked a bit poncy on TV - but my lord, it is absolutely AMAZING. It totally blows jumping and cross-country out of the water in terms of buzzes. But before I get too excited - is there any slightly cheaper ways to enjoy this sport?? Is it worth doing a few 30 min lessons and then the occasional chukka? And I used to think happy hacking was expensive.....

It is sooo addictive but I have found too that the price is pretty steep! I am lucky as get discounts for association with the military.

Completely agree, I only recently started but am finding it so so addictive

!!

Can't help with the price - I get it discounted through uni, but at the yard we use our hour lessons are split into 1/2 stick and balling, 1/4 games and 1/4 chukkas, maybe see if theres a place like that near you?

Ooooh yeah polo is definitly a drug!

Hmmmm...I play every week and never have lessons. I pay nothing for chukkas at my club, but pay about £135 for annual fee. I think owning your own pony is probably the best way as the same pony each week is easier to play polo and you can pay usually over £50 for a pony per chukka!

There are syndicate ponies which are part owned by a couple of people. But not every club owns them, although you probably could come to some agreement with another person.

It is expensive but if you find the right club then things can be cheaper! what area are you in? i could recommend some clubs...
