A friend and I are organising a charity polo match in August (starring local riders trying their very best to whack a ball around a pitch!) but we have hit a stumbling block... Does anyone know of a suitable but affordable substitute for the boards that mark out the pitch's perimeter? Obviously fencing won't be suitable as we don't want horses (or riders) to get tangled up in it, and dressage boards are painfully expensive, we just need something that will stop the ball from leaving the pitch.

So far I've thought sections of painted chipboard pegged to the ground could work quite well, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you try 'borrowing' the dressage boards from your local Pony Club or Riding Club?
Or maybe suggest hiring from them (if that's allowed!)? Good luck.

I play polo and boards a not a requirement for polo so you do not need them, white paint would be cheaper and safer to use especially if the horses havent done polo before

gd luck xx
