Okay, it arrived this morning and is not quite what I expected!

For anyone who's used it before, do I need to clip the fur away for it to stick? And I assume I apply the dressing and then place a patch of the Polster-Plast over the top to secure it in place. I don't have to over lap, do I? As this is for a wound where I cannot do that. It'll be a single patch stuck onto the fur. It doesn't seem very sticky. Just hope it sticks better in-situ!
 
You don't need to clip the fur off. When I used it I held the dressing on then put half the PP on the dressing, half on the fur, wrapped round the thigh, just ot hold it up and in place.
If you cant wrap it I would just put bits on the top and bottom, maybe the sides.
 
As I remember it wasn't too hard to remove and I think I only stuck as little as necessary to the fur!! I think the dressings were changed as normal. Vet did it first couple of times as it was a bit of a mess and I am pretty sure he only came every few days, maybe every other to start with....I can't remember, it was about 5 yrs ago.
Mare got her back leg over barb wire somehow which cut all the front of the hock like a cheesewire, which was why it was impossible to keep a dressing and bandage ot stay up properly
 
I am using this daily at the moment. I cut a piece approx 1 inch bigger than the Melolin dressing. On my horse the area is clipped and it really sticks. I gently peel it off being careful not to pull the skin.

I'll take a pic later.

I took him to the vets for a checkup yesterday and the dressing was peeled off twice for two different vets to look at and it stuck back onto the skin again no problem.

I cannot reuse it and have to have a fresh piece every day.
 
I've placed a square of the Polster-Plast over the dressing and am planning on leaving it in place for 3 days (so, it'll be due to come off tomorrow for redressing). Fingers crossed she doesn't end up 'peeled' as well as cut. Many thanks for the advice. Just don't want to make her sorer than she's already feeling. She's being so good about being hosed endlessly, injected and having her wound poked and prodded, considering she's not even turned 2 yet.
