I'm just so proud of my boy! In just over a year he's come on so much so he's nearly unrecognisable!! I bought Pepper because he is clever, he never fails to make me smile and knew him before hand, I knew there'd be no nasty surprises around the corner!
Having said this I also knew he wasn't perfect, stubborn, lazy, ridiculously nappy, naughty and any form of schooling was none existent!
I'm not saying he's perfect now, (if there is such a thing!) but I'm proud that we've got this far and that we're still improving all the time! I won't carry in boring you, they say a picture speaks a thousand words so please take a look!
They're exactly what you make them, no more, no less.
Pointless post really, I just wanted to share my beautiful pony with you all!!😉

Thank you all! I love him very much and he's so incredibly rewarding! I hadn't realised how much he'd changed myself, until I found the older photos on my phone!

Brilliant what a great job you have done. Those photos are a really great demo of the difference of riding in an outline and working the right muscles to give such an improved confirmation, good to see

Brilliant transformation. What a lucky chap to have landed with you! I would have never guessed it was the same horse if it wasn't for the markings.

Thank you! He's coming along grand☺️ I love to get him out and about this year!! He's never well loaded up until recently, but we've got there now and I'm sure he'd live to see some new places! He does love a good hack!

What an amazing improvement - you must be so proud of him (and yourself!!) Agree with others who say he looks like a different pony. How old is he? Good luck with going out and doing things, will look forward to reading reports :)

He's totally changed shape, and as others have said, it's taken years off him. How lovely.

I bet you had some fun fitting saddles along the way - he must have needed half a dozen new ones!

Oh wow! This is a fab improvement! I cannot believe how different he looks, he's totally changed shape. I can't believe what poor shape he was in before and now look at him! Well done you. Pepper is a lovely boy x

what do you think was going on with his back? did you use a front riser/padding at the front of the saddle?

Thank you very much, he's a wonderful boy!!
Urgh! Saddles were such a nightmare! I can't tell you how many we've been through!😦
We started off in an high wither GP and rear riser I think? That was when his back was at it's worst, I've had to change it so many times since!

He was born on a dairy farm, dam died and was the only equine for many years, just living with the cows on silage and cow nuts... The farmer (a rather big man!) used to ride him around bareback, he's only about 14hh/14.1hh. I'm just guessing that that's the explanation for his back? He's gone so hollow (from the age of 3) in struggling to carry his rider, it's just worsened over time.

Thank you☺️ he's about 14! Though I admit he looked much older originally.
