Good news that Pontispool is taking up the slack and running another BE in Bictons slot. Running classes PN-Int. Cracking course with a variety of fences so can easily run two very different events.

Sounds good to me, Pontispool and I share many memories, would be nice to have a fun round there!!

I love Pontispool and have many very good memories although unfortunatly my first memory was not good. Their first BE event caused a lot of falls at the water - whether the bottom hadn't settled nobody knew but I was one of a few to have total ducking - head first!

Omg, my first memory was about as bad- I'm not exactly sure what happened but it left me unconscious and my horse free to gallop round Pontispool's fantastic selection of hedges for 40 minutes

I was the Very first person at the Very first BE event at Pontispool to jump through the water, and yes, the ground in the bottom of it hadn't settled, it caused alot of problems, including ripping all the muscles in poor Puggles bum, as he tried to jump out of it!!!

Have you also seen that they're running an AI at their usual event, i thought i might aim for it!

I'm very suprised theyre bothering to run an AI- they could get hardly any peeps to do the Stockland Lovell AI so doubt many will travel to Pontispool.
Be alright for you though- nice small class

Good old Pontispool, will look forward to jumping round that again at camp, that will have to do as i cant afford to do BE yet. Their outdoor school is amazing!

God, i haden't even noticed that SL did an AI.. I guess once you're at that level, they're a bit pointless, but they're good for people like me!

hehe

Just a thought, but if Pontispool are going to take over Bictons date, does that mean the're going to run an Adv.

I know they want to run a CIC*/CIC** there at some point (not this season, hopefully next)

Go for it should be ideal. I quite fancy it but I think the dressage is still beyond me!

I would prefer the AI at Pontispool to SL better course more flowing and the groung is generally better.

I'm not sure why they arent v popular- most peeps seem to either do OI or A. The good thing about them is that you can look smart and pretend that you're one of the big guns (until your horse behaves appallingly and you get elim in the sj *ahem*)

Interesting just looked at Pontispools web site and in their program of events they are not advertising any intermediate classes at the May event. Hope this is a mistake and not that BE is only letting them run one event with Intermediate classes.

It is still the orginal classes on BE but they probably not as quick to update.

Did Pontispool run Intermediates last year? They hadn't got an intermediate course last time I was there. If they didn't maybe they won't be ready in time for early season. I think I only ever did one AI, there was a grand total of 7 of us in it! That was at Portman, who could hardly get any intermediate entries, they've given up that level now.

MdM - does that mean you've def got S? Or are you aiming Squeaky at it?!

They ran Intermediate for the first time last year. Nice course generally with a few questions - quite a big bounce, an awkward line through the water and some big offset hedges over undulating ground.

I can't remember if they had 3 or 4 intermediate sectioons last year all full. The course was well received by people like Mary King and Lucy Weigersma so I would think with Bicton going will draw the entries.

I always think Pontispool courses are on the softer side. The Sj is up to height but you do not tend to notice so much as on a nice surface. For me Pontispool is a lot closer than Bicton which is great. Are they running an intro as Bicton does not?
