Well been looking forward to taking both the gee gees to an event fairly local as well

Arrived Thursday night and walked the courses cracking courses at all levels educational but not over tough. However despite huge effort from the organisers the ground was poor hard and in places uneven. I'm probably over cautious with the horses but made decision that Sarnita would not run xc in the Intermediate and Rags only in the PN if he was well placed.

Sarnita's dessage wasn't too bad although I'm struggling to reproduce the work I can achieve at home. The oats were certainly kicking in and we had some big bucks warming up! She got a 38.6 which was fair. SJing caused huge problems not quite sure why as nice courses but up to height. She was a little fresh in the SJing and just tipped 2 rails which is unlike her but at least it was a day it didn't matter! She was most miffed not to be going XC but very glad I didn't run her.

Rags without my trying is getting fitter and a big know it all

His dressage warm up went well but as we were about to start test he saw duck or something on pond and promtly had a bit of a fit. Our test then was tense which was unfortunate. A 37.5 was fair again although there was some odd marking. SJing was the day after which was unfortunate as he was very fresh next morning and a bit hyper. We went to do our round and he just fought me and had the first few down then he jumped the 2nd part of the course clear. Needs to do a lot of SJing practice and start jumping a few Newcomers. As he was well out of it he didn't XC either

Sarnie was even less impressed to stop on the way home at the gallop which she thought was far less fun.

Hope to go to Withington for the Intermediate next week but won't even travel unless we get significant rain my horses are just too precious.

I don't know what events can do when the ground is this dry

Sensible decisions Sarah-Jane.
I'm supposed to go to Withington, but without rain there is no way I will run her XC. At least as its close to home will will go practice dressage...

You do what you think is right.
Glad to hear the oats are kicking in lol i can imagin her sulking and even her disgust for having to get out of the box on the way home just to go up the gallops

Theyre both saved for another day

I saw S having a buck and a play, she did look well

If she actually put some of that energy into her dressage she is well capable of producing a very nice test.

Rain dance anyone???
It is a bit drizzly here tonight, but would need to rain for about 3 days non stop I think.
Sorry you didn't get to run, but I'm sure it was a wise decision.
