We were planning to take Flyn this Sunday but the rain here has been virtually non stop for days.
Unless it improves I don't think we'll go, PP is clay and turns to liquid mud in poor conditions. The course is often ok but the car parks etc are terrible when it's like that.
Has anyone heard if it's till running?

what class were you in? if in the open novice i will take your place :P

there has been a fair bit of rain but our ground is holding up well still. Times are tonight arn't they? alterntively ring opntispool direct to ask abotu the going as the organisers this time are not pontispool!

Even though there has been a lot of rain we are not muddy at all and we are based on clay. It seems to be soaking in really well. Longleat was perfect going on the xc just a bit deep in places and that was after a lot more rain and no wind. The SJ being a surface and I think that is always the most prone to condition problems. I am walking the course Saturday - do you want a report? I think Pontispool will be pertty perfect as does drain well on the whole and it has been so dry recently.

Thanks Lec, a report would be great, but if it looks like it is going to stop raining C will most likely drive up and walk it too!
I wonder if you have had less rain than us, here it has been the torrential sort completely awful to ride in, as fast as C gets on a horse she is soaked and rides it, gets off, changes completely and the same damn thing happens again.
Our fields drain superbly but we have puddles on them, and the poor horses are totally fed up.
Forgot PP was Sj on that lovely surface, we are a little wary of deep going XC after Jonty did her tendon there, she is sound again now but we think perhaps best do less stressful things like pure dressage for a year or two. A loaner is currently trying her to see how she gets on (already had C's previous pony for years so ideal home!) she is a super rider so it may just work. Otherwise she will go in foal.
The horse we are taking on Sunday is not experienced and loathes water so not expecting any rosettes.. He is however entered for Nutwell Court so this is a test for him to see how he copes.
If the rain stops we'll see you Sunday!!

I think i'm going to ring up this evennig and politely ask if there have been any withdrawals in the section I had entered. There is meant to be a lot of rain tomorrow as well so maybe some will be put off
