This weeks prep had gone quite well with him having a massage on wednesday - this has made to end of difference to him - he seems so much looser and not at all as tense and had a great jumping lesson on thurs with christine again!!
Then on go pontispool on fri!!
All i can say is that we didnt do quite as well as angela but we came 11th ish!!
Having our dressage at 2 we got there in plenty of time and walked the XC before hand. Overall thought it was smaller that sommerly but a bit more technical! Especially the combinations and the very scary irish bank!! ask MdeM if you dont belive me!! Lol
He warmed up for the dressage nicely and was relaxed almost straight away and went in and did a nice calm relaxed test to come out with 34.8 (2 marks better that at novice last week!!), leaving us about 10th
Then we didnt go showjumping until 5 we had a nice leisurly lunch and a wander around!!
So on to SJ! Was slightly worried about this as what happend last week but he was a star! tried very hard and only had 2 down both of which he just knocked with his toes!! And there only being 2 clears in my section i was even more pleased with him!!
Then XC i had got so nervous before had and when i spoke to a friend to see how she had gone and she said her horse had tried to jump the bounce in one that made things a bit wores!!
Well anyway i had nothing to worry about he flew round apart from the skicky moments!!! One at the water when he launched in leaving me on bucklend to jump the boat out!! another at the double of hedges before the irish bank where we just went through the 2nd one!! and the final sticky moment at the final water which was a log straight in to a step then a log! He wasnt to keen about going in the water so a bit of shouting later got us in but then again was on buckle end for the next 2 parts! Lol But was pleased to finish up with only 17.8 time
So all in all a nice day and had a chance to slightly repay angela for rescuing us at aldon!!
Will put pics up soon
