After dafthoss's success introducing Dave the inflatable dolphin to the Yellow pony, we decided that Fergs should be subjected to the same abuse. Today dafthoss was around to control Dave and take photos of the ensuing mayhem...

It would be fair to say Dave himself didn't perturb Fergs too much - he was quite happy for Dave to nibble his ears:

However, when Dave lay on Larry the lilo under a little jump, he was clearly much more dangerous and terrifying - Fergs really believed he had to watch him the whole time...

Right after that, Fergs decided he didn't agree with dolphins in captivity and managed to liberate Dave mid flight. The subsequent scene of dafthoss chasing Dave across my field was comedy genius. Alas I didn't have the camera so you'll just have to imagine it

The addition of some rubber rings was sufficient for Fergs to engage full Jump Jet mode

Before he realised Dave was still his buddy and really wasn't out to eat him!

Meanwhile on the other side of the field from Dave, Silver Steve was waiting for Fergs...

But sadly Silver Steve wasn't worthy of Jump Jet mode :p

Finally, Fergie wanted to say "ooo arrr me hearties" to you all, while dressed in his pirate costume:

I would like to add that this is an informative thread about the methods and equipment used in bombproofing training, the unsung virtues of poundland for equestrians and the versatility of the highland breed, and as such is worthy of remaining in NL and should not be bumped to PG :p

Poundland is such a fabulous place- full of such terrifying monsters!
Silver Steve managed to get one beautiful trot of of him!
What a pretty boy! :p

:D :D Brilliant pics! My daughter has an inflatable Tyrannosaurus Rex called Liam that she will lend you. He is somewhat larger than Dave but I'm sure Jump Jet Fergie could clear him easily. :D
Glad to see you glued his legs back on in the correct direction before jumping. :D

Ah yes, Steve induced some lovely paces, Lintel - nice active hind leg :p

rhino, who was having fun? It was a serious schooling exercise, you just never know what you'll encounter in the arena - I hear inflatable dolphins are very common in dressage competitions now  :D

Took a few goes to get them in the right places, but it just doesn't work if you leave the hocks facing out the front :D

Liam sounds great :D if Fergs set him free it would look like a scene from Jurassic Park when dafthoss has to chase him across the field  :D

If you wernt the other end of the country you would have joined in

True! :D

Yes, dear  Actually ginger horse was fine with inflatables, we regularly used to hack/paddle/swim at Weymouth beach!

Unsurpringly - Ginger horse is fine with EVERYTHING, cos he's a legend :D

laura_lor, that was totally intentional, honest :p

I have so been waiting for these photos and they are great :D What a little star you have there, still want the Dolphin, will have to dolphin knapp Dave

Haha, glad to be of entertainment :p Thanks! Dave the dolphin available in all good poundlands for the princely some of... weeeell... a pound, actually :o

This post actually made me snort. Although the pictures were amusing on FB your commentary finishes it off just right!

did dh put those rubber rings on poor Fergs? She stuck my stressage sheet to BH's head whilst I was attempting to pretend to be a grown up dressagey type! Totally ruined the illusion! Of course BH hadn't already spoilt it by being a div about the banners or anything, up till then people thought I was Anky on a new horse! :D

We need a photo post of ebony meeting dave :D. I thought the yellow pony would hate him but he really wasnt that bothered , if in doubt terry tarpaulin gave yellow pony food and then he had no fear of him :D.

Off to poundland tomorrow, not to sure if Ebony the Drama Queen would be too impressed

go for it, what's the worst she can do? :D

I believe so, yes... She also chucked Dave over his neck, provoking Fergie to attempt an escape while I was trying to do my girth up  I think she's trying to kill us both  :D

when I first saw your sig I really did think you were Anky, y'know. :D

Knock me off my one little leg :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::D

I nearly said about the rolkur but then decided to be surprisingly politically correct and keep my gob shut. But then you said it anyway :D

meh, that's all I'm here for, to put my foot in my gob. It might impress you to know that I can even actually manage to fit both of them in at once :D No need for anyone else to be politically incorrect - you may as well stay with the moral highground :D

Brilliant commentary made me laugh!
Think Harvey would have a total heart failure if he saw those given he finds even different coloured patches of grass truly terrifying! I do have a tarpaulin lying around might let him 'meet' it at some point....

Loving jump jet mode, and the pirate picture is pure class! Dave is cool.
In addition to poundland, I also find home bargains & (non horsey) car boots provide fantastic jump fillers. And when my neighbours did a loft conversion, some items from their skip. Obviously in the name of reducing landfill & bombproofing, not just cos i'm too cheap to buy proper fillers!

I like your style :D We were thinking of making a spider jump like this http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...2369325_211356334324_10993685_641816710_a.jpg
out of one of my barrels and some blue piping that was left on my yard :D I'm all for being creative - picked up a trellis from poundland to decorate with brush and tinsel for some christmassy workers practice :p :D

Glad it's entertaining people :D Bless! Mine is scared of different coloured bits of grass too, and small birds. Like wagtails are scarier than pigeons and blue tits scarier than hawks ? best not to ask when it comes to ponies  I generaly think that the more they see, the less there is to fear. Go for it - Tarpaulins are great - my cob wears his as a scarf

Wish mine was that brave!

after 12 years of me doing (literally) everything to him - from flying flags and kites from his back to playing a violin - there is very little out there that holds any fear for him! When I got him as a daft young thing he would have a paddy over silly things. Over time he learnt it was easier just to take it on the chin and ignore it :D
