I went to auctions today and there was a little pony there what looked like a bay sec a, what i noticed first was his teeth they were sticking out at a funny angle? then i overheard someone say "how old do you reacon he is" someone said about 20 he wasnt advertised with age but that he had only ever had 2 owners, when i had a better look at him sunken dipped back, real big eye that looked so sad, personally to me he looked more in his 30s....to say this upset me was an understatement.....What kind of people could send an old boy like him to auction not knowing where he is going to end up

poor little chap had already been sold when i saw him, £200, i just pray someone took pity on him and gives him a home till the end of his days,

Which horse sale was it?

As horse owners we should make written provision for our horses in the event of our deaths. This is why it is so important to make a will so that people know what to do with our horses in the event of our demise which in some cases can sadly be premature.

a few dealers take along the "aaah factor" animals...they ALWAYS get a reasonable price because "someone" feels sorry for it.

Easy money, sadly........

Hence i keep banging on and on and on about this subject on this forum...
DON'T DO IT.....

he'll (the dealer) will buy and sell another "old boy" next week..........

hi, it was at exeter horse sales, I think your right about the will making provision, I go to the sales most months, and have to say nothing supprises me any more, but this little chap with his big sad eyes did pull at the heartstrings, i must be getting soft with age

No you are not going soft but there are a lot of uncaring owners about that will simply off load the horse that has given them many years of pleasure purely for financial gain and without any thought for the future well being of the horse.
