But reacently when she comes in and its dark shes been trying to bomb off, so i pull her head round shake the leadrope and normally she would start behaving but over the last couple of days, when ive told her off shes started to rear up and box out every time

Im at my wits end and have bruises all up my legs (Luckily shes only wittle!)

Any tips

Nope, by the time ive gone to get the ponies in at work (They have to come in a certain time) and got up there its dark.
If i get them in before its too early and she'd go nuts

have you tried putting the lead rope over her nose to give you a bit more control?
or maybe get a stallion chain to lead her with?
 
I had few problems with young tb and did alot of ground work with him.Basic stuff like back up move over etc so he looked to me for guidance.If he played up he used to rear not great with 16 h 4 year old but once I had installed some manners from the ground it all stopped.
 
I would not advise using a chiffney if you are not experienced in doing so. Even experienced people would use a chiffney as a last resort as if used incorrectly you can break a horses jaw with one. You can try putting the rope over her nose or through her mouth. If that doesn't work use a chain. There are also some good pressure haulters on the market that can be used in these situations. But i would advise getting a bridle (or bit clips to attatch the bit to a headcollar) rather than using a chiffney.
 
My mare used to do exactly the same thing, but she's a bit bigger so the boxing was a little more worrying lol. I put her in one of my old bridles now when i lead her. I tried everything but that's the only thing that worked without a fight
