My pony keeps rubbing his fat a**e on our fencing, but does it that much he snaps the rails and has even started snapping the posts :(

Me and OH replaced 6 posts and 3 rails (luckly the old rails came off intact) at £40 thought that was a good price. But ponies field is quite big and to keep replacing posts and rails (think 100+ post's) will cost... well a lot :(

I wash his tail every week, at first this stopped him or at least helpped the rubbing. But now he has move to above his tail on is bum, so is getting under the rail then rubbing upwards. Lifting posts out and then breaking them, and rails. When I wash his tail there is no scabs or anything that looks to be ichy, and he is wormed. (nothing on worm count) Also he does it in stages as in will go months without rubbing and in winter does not rub at all, I think its midges as there are loads round us.

So the idea I have is to get a small electric fencing energiser and use that. He has a masive tree to rub ichy bits on but uses the fence instead :(

I know nothing about electric fencing (anymore) as I've not used it for years.

Which is the best energiser to use?

I have found a Fenceman DP350 Energiser but just wondered if anyone has used one, and how good they are.

Or if you have any other ideas!!!!

Sweeties for your choice, for getting this far :D
