Pony Club Championships - thrills, spills & an air ambulance!

Congratulations on a super result! That course looked really tough and to get clear was soem achievement. Great pics too :-)
Thank you :)

Congratulations :) I walked the course and it was very tough so you did so well to get round and get placed!! Gypsy ponies rule :p
Lol thank you :)
Wow, I had no idea Pony Club courses could be so huge!! The Asian champs were held recently in Thailand over a 1* course and less than 50% the competitors made it round - based on the pics from Thailand and those on here I'd say the PC course looks far bigger. at the trakehener!

Well done, Billy looks gorgeous as usual :D And Dills also looks amazing! Well done to all competitors.
Thank you :)

Brill report. Really well done in getting 5th. Looks like a tough course.

C Castle looks like a lovely venue, I wonder why the British Riding Clubs doesn't use it for their Champs? it always seems a shame to me that they run the Dr, SJ and xc champs on seperate weekends. would be nice if a venue was big enough to accommodate them all so that everyone could go down to support the other teams.

Maybe C Castle would be a good one for that :)

ETA: although I have just thought of two issues! I don't think they do an 80cm or 90cm course.

And as its in Cheshire I'm pretty sure the BRC will think that means too many people have to travel far to attend ;)

Will be closer for us lot though!

Very well done superb photos and write up we where at Cholmondley a couple of weeks ago and it is a tough course but great place. Which team won the Champs and who was individual winner do you know ?

Great report and a fab achievement to jump clear around a track like that on an experienced horse, let alone a 7yo - well done!

If you insist:rolleyes:

Wow thanks Jo, she'll LOVE those - although :o at the White Rails, he was proper carting her by then and took a completely gratuitous stride out - luckily the turn to the trakehner slowed him down a bit :D Gorgeous pic of him over that one :)

o_m we will definitey have to try harder Next year, although I think you are secretly afriad that Billy will sneak back to his spiritual home in Wales if we actually meet up ;) I think he would feel like Gulliver among the
Lilliputians tbh, might give him a complex :D

Well done indeed, only_me As one of Billy's HHO fans I'm thrilled for you both.

Tabledancer - I haven't had time to read back to see how MiniTD faired but I LOVE the pic over the terrifying ditch. Gulps and goes back to flimsy poles that knock down!

Lordy! Well sat, T! :D

Very, very well done o_m. He's turned into a proper classy horse and you've done a super job on him. I loved your bay horse and I like this one just as much. Great, well deserved result.

Very well done Only Me and huge congrats on producing such a star :). As far as I can see, anyone who completed that XC course deserves heaps of praise - all our lot came back from walking it looking a bit green. Rosie wasn't eventing this time (much to her disgust, she loves a challenge ;)) but we were there for the open SJ. The team came 10th with R having a clear then 3 down - a bit disappointing but the horse isn't hers and he's pretty inexperienced.
We left on Sunday but the East Essex came 2nd in the Open Eventing so they did well too :).

Well done!! Sounds like a fab few days, and some great pics!

Brilliant result round the toughest of tracks, you must be so proud of him! I agree with your sentiments re course, I really hope they don't "dumb down" next year, I think it should be a real championship track as it was. If anything, I think Areas should be beefed up so people are better prepared.

Totally agree here...several people said over the sat and sun that their areas were pretty much dressage competitions which then meant people weren't prepared to cope with true championship tracks! Ours certainly was, when I walked the course for the area didn't look at one fence and think that could be a problem fence, they were all straight forwards and time was fairly easy!! Areas definately need to be a little harder IMO :)

Looks like you all had a great time :D Well done :) Where you off to next?
We did thank you :) not sure, we might just round off the season :)

Thank you :) the VWH won, they also had a few arena winners in the team as well :)

Thank you :) he is the best!

Well done, super report and results!

I love the photo of the ditch!
Lol thanks :)
Great reading and well done! Mildly concerned by the "groundline" of disembodied heads and hoping that they don't catch on generally with course designers ;)
It would be quite a fun ground line though! :)

Lol i have a pic of him standing beside the 12h pony that was doing open dressage in the arena beside us at the same time - giant!! He might like wales with all the hills but would miss his donkeys far too much i'm afraid :p

The open Sj caused plenty of victims! 10th is still a placing and in our eyes any rossette is a win at the champs :) funny we walked the xc roughly on sunday morning and didnt think it was too bad as after every question was a let up, we thought it looked as strong as our areas! The intermediates were interesting to watch especially at the coffin, we saw one person jump but horse saw ditch at last moment and ended up on the fence, front legs on landing and back on take off, got off it eventually but not exactly the most confidence boost before ours! Thank you :)

Well done!! Sounds like a fab few days, and some great pics!

Our areas was tough, and we had a massive water jump and double of corners. Thank you :)

Christ those jumps are huuuuuuge!!!!

Well done, he really is a super boy :)
Thanks nikki :)
