Pony Club Championships

Just saw this on the Pony Club website...... just a one liner at the bottom of the page..... I wonder where it will go next year?

It has been mutually agreed between The Pony Club and Mr Stuart Buntine that The Pony Club Championships will not be held at Shelford Manor in 2008.

No idea where it will end up next year, but one thing's for sure, it wont be at Shelford!!

Where else can they put it?? It takes a pretty special venue to be able to cater for the PC champs. Its got to have a PN and N cross country course, room for SJ and dressage arenas, flat large area for polo and polocrosse, space for PPC games etc etc. not to mention lorry parking and stabling!! It must be quite a challenge finding a venue that fills the criteria sufficiently

The box park on weds night last year was just huge OMG...... we must of been a mile from the arena and the weather was so bad so it made it hard for the parking.

long gone are the days of sansaw *sigh*

It used to be at weston park back in the day as well i believe.

i went this year to watch some friends and it lacked the atmosphere their was at sansaw, but they did do an amzing job to fit everything in!!

how about lincoln showground? what levels do they run xc?

Its needs to be a strong Novice course for level 5 and PN for level 4 but the years I did it at Weston park the XC was round the Int

and large amounts of ground for the rest.

Lincoln is a maybe on size.

they should bring it back to sansaw! it was brill!! (and we finished 5th in the teams!)
although it was the first year they ran the intermeadiate champs and the xc course wasn't very difficult - it made the step up between levels look impossible

sansaw is nice for us northern irish lot as our dc has connections near there and we all stay (40 riders!! +parents) in a nice livery yard which is on an airfield/strip thing! however, it does take 8 hours to drive there, and thats not counting the ferry

sansaw has a nice atmosphere about it... never got to shelford though this year due to stupid fence judge

some of the fences at sansaw were more than a strong novice too!! a few of the cic** combinations i seem to remember.

i think lincoln only have novice and intermediate

it was that gaint trakener, the corner ditch corner, the gaint hedge thing, the bounce bank fence!

i dont know but i think i read in the BE mag that lincoln now has a PN course as well...my be wrong tho because i always thought it was just nov and int.

Its running a PN on the friday aswell this year .It would be good to have it at lincoln, only 20mins away
