When I say older I mean 17.

Basically, when I was young enough to go pony clubbing me and my horse weren't into that kind of thing.

I'm now on the old side of things (can poss still do pony club but would feel like an idiot!) but have a pony who's brilliant at everything and has really made me want to just go and muck about with other like minded people/horses.

So is there an 'adult' pony club? For all us 'fun' riders who don't mind making a fool of ourselves?

BTW, it'd have to be in the southeast.

Cheers!

Sounds like the PC you were in wasn't great if you really don't want to back to it. Why not try a different one? I was in Pony Club right until they really couldn't let me stay any longer (nearly 26!!) and loved it from joining at 8.

I then joined a local riding club and was really put off by the large proportion of middle aged women who didn't speak to me at any of the rallies or competitions. Having been used to a really friendly club it was a real shock and has put me off re-joining. I felt like an outcast because I was so much younger - my friends from pc that also joined felt the same.

If you can find a good riding club with a real mixture of ages you're very lucky.

Hope you do find something suitable.

dessmont - it sounds like you joined a RC that wasn't great - try joining a different one! I am a member of a couple of RC's and there is a huge age range in both of them. I never took part in PC, so can't make the comparison - but I have always been made to feel welcome at the RC comps etc - and I am very very bad at mixing with people.

I rejoined this year at 20, so go for it! :) I joined a different PC to my old one, and they were really friendly and some nice people near my age (although eldest was probably about 17/18)

Go for it! :)

My daughter left Pony Club to concentrate on exams - she is now 18, nearly 19 and will be rejoining at the end of the summer - try giving your local PC a try it could be well worth it - esp with the costs of lessons nowadays.

I'm 17 and am in the PC.

Still lots of opportunities, I am in no way near the eldest member, and the rallies and lessons are good, and often cheaper. :)

I would give it another go with a different club. Although RC's are good too (although I think some are better than others, we changed a couple of times), I was a member til I was about 12. :)

Think I worded it badly, never been part of a pony club as it wasn't my thing, I was a happy hacker but now more into comps etc.

And I just assumed PC was for younger people. Think I'd better hunt down my local PC and see if they can deal with me and my nutter! :D

we had 3 people join before i went to Uni so they must have been about 17 - it was fab to have new friends and more people to fend of the mummies darlings on their immaculate lead rein ponies!!

I'm 19, still in the PC and I love it! There are about 10 of us between the age of 17-21, some who still attend annual camp and some who just go to the rallies for older members.

Im 19 and still do pony club! :D

I love it - made loads of friends there and have lots of fun - i dont go to senior camp anymore as I am "too old" but those days were legendary! :D

Infact, tomorrow I am off to advanced pc camp with other people my age - cant wait :D

I love pony club - much more active than riding clubs, and there are more boys in our club than any other club in the uk! ;) :D

Ive just joined at the age of 19!! And just got my bronze award :D :P...would have been really miffed if i had of failed it, after riding for 12years and owning for 6!
