It's 3"6ft first round, then theres a break and then everyone jumps another round of 3"9ft (i think?) and then all double clears do a jump off.
should be a great oppertunity for me to compete there, albeit not at the 3DE

just wondering if anyone has been and has any experiences they wish to share? it is on the friday (dressage day), if anyone fancies coming to watch

Well done, sounds like fun.
Just for reference, Gatcombe isnt a 3 day, it's the one day champs and also they run normal advanced sections which I believe are on the Friday.....

We have done pc jumping at burghley ,there aren't usually many double clears as it is up to height and have done Blenheim with riding club and they have pc day but its not so big .Photo of our pony 13 years ago at Burghley , she is now 26 and retired Haven't done Gatcome but you will have a great time

I have been for the last 3 years. Its one of the best comps of the year i think!

The first round is 3"4' and the second one is 3"7 and much more technical.

Everybody jumps the first round, with the local pony clubs going first and the furthest going last. Then every club goes again providing the team has not been eliminated (this rarely happens) with the most fault scoring clubs going first.

Its much fun and i would be going this year if wasnt working.

Also last year they gave as a bag with loads of free stuff in - incl some nice gloves - it was worthwhile going for that.

Good luck I'm sure you'll have a great time , I did Burghley last year

Hi

I have done it twice and managed 5th riding my 5 yr old mare. my sister has done it 3 times (2 being double clear! on same mare)

I am currently the team manager for it and we are in the process of selecting a team at the moment (we have 14 members who want to try out!) its a really good day out its 3'4 in the first round and 3'7 in the second, they always make thie first round a little easier and the second round up to height and more technical including a treble. Will be there with my team so may well see you, we normally have to go first as we are fairly local!

Good luck, and well done for getting on the team!
