Hey just a little report of my day yesterday...
So I got up at 5.15am to do the Intermediate Pony Club Team SJ at Hickstead As usual lue was covered in poo!! so a quick was and then on went the travel gear!
Okay so as soon as we arived we went to walk the course which by the way looked really quite small compared to last week!! Plus it was just a few simple loops to each jump, although i was a tad worried about the striing of the doubles..
Warming up, well we couldnt even find it!! Then we found out it was at the other end of the feild so down we trudged. The ground was quite soft so i was very glad i had studs in, Blue was lovely trotting round quietly, a bit exited in canter but still good. We then moved on to do a few jumps and she hit her stride everytime, i was sooo pleased!!
So basically we were all going into the ring feeling pretty confident!
Ella was first in and rode a nice clear round, next was hanna with her new pony, she had two stops and one pole (rider error) but considering that they have only been to one show together a ood result Abbie rode another good clear round... then it was me Blue went straight into canter popped the jumps effortlessly, the first double we even got one good stride inbetween, which surprised me because often i have to hold for two.
We then over shot a turn into fence 8 after the planks so had an awkward jump and bad line to 9 but she still did it And again she got a 1 stride in the last double, fence 10 D
So we were through to round 2!!
When we came to warm up agin, it was pouring with rain!!! we got lucky when we went to jump as the rain stoped for our rounds !! again Ella and ME easilly went clear, Abble just had the planks down and Hanna got 2 stops so we were through to the jump off on 4 faults....
Now i really wanted to jump off (tbh blue is good at the turns and is very quick!!) but oh no little miss up her own ass with a rich uncle got her way again (ella) did the jump off ... but hey i am a good sport and just grumbled a bit...
She did it in 35.7 seconds so not bad, but her turns just wernt good enough against the ponys but... WE CAME 4TH!!!!! out of 34 teams :O we were thrilled, plus we got to do a lap of honour!!
